At Christchurch South Community Gardens, we are proud of our work in contributing to neighbourhood sustainability since 1999. This work can only continue if the local community continues to support our gardens.

Achievements (1999 – current)
- 4000+ active participation p.a, 3000+ volunteer hours, 60+ vols p.a.
- Funded 30+ paid positions – employment – related skills, opportunities, references
- $400,000+ (non-wage) expenditure to local businesses
- 10 Horticultural Society Merit Awards . Civic Trust Award 2008. Safer Community Award 2000.
- Best GARDENZ site – A&P Show 2008. Highly Commended 2009
- Provided 2 tonnes of food crops & 8 tonnes of garden resources to the community p.a.
- $8000 funds raised 2016 – market days, sausage sizzles, off site events
- 24 tonnes p.a. community waste processed (organic&inorganic) .45 businesses involved in first 5 yrs. Post – quake we have become expert local soil restorers ( 30 t to date)
- $5000+ repair and maintenance of our CCC facility
- Supervised 660 adults for Community Corrections & 10 people for Police Youth Aid
- Provided work experience for up to 200 people with special needs
- Provided community education for all – Pre school- PHD, CPIT student placements
